Working with Studiocom, we redesigned Activision.com to integrate more multimedia and personalized content, create a more immersive experience, improve usability, and optimize website maintenance efforts.

The Product: Activision.com is the official source of information on the company's highly popular games including Guitar Hero, Call of Duty, and others.

The Challenge: Provide templates that work for every Activision game so that each would have their own customized look and feel while maintaining consistency for users and ensuring a simple website maintenance process. Also, create a center for all multimedia and a way for users to find games they'd be interested in using advanced search and filter tools. Finally, implement age-gating for different kinds of content in a way that appears simple and unobtrusive to the user.

The Solution: I worked closely with the design and development teams, as well as the client, to come up with two templates to cover all of Activision's games. As you can see on the site, each game's page looks uniquely branded, but there is consistency in the information design. While each game page includes its own multimedia content, there is a central multimedia section where the user can explore all videos, images, and even music. The game search page is a sophisticated search tool allowing users to find any kind of game they desire. The age-gating procedure, while complex, appears straightforward to both signed in and signed out users. The result: a place gamers enjoy spending their time exploring the world of Activision.
